A totem of celebration

The Redcliff 39.5 'Confetti' marks the first of a new collection of limited-production (but not limited edition) watches by Topper Jewelers - entitled Burlingame Editions.

This collaboration holds a significant importance for the Fears team and the Caplan family, as the 'Confetti' dial concept was designed by John Caplan shortly before successfully completing chemotherapy and was intended as a reminder of life's best moments - and those that should be celebrated.

This special collaboration can only be purchased directly from Topper Jewelers.

A portion of the proceeds from each watch sold will be donated to support the world-renowned oncology research being conducted at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.

CASE

The Redcliff 39.5 'Confetti' is housed in a contemporary round case with integrated lugs alongside a screw-down case back, bezel and crown. Spanning 39.5mm in diameter yet with a case thickness of only 9.98mm, this slim case combines a bushed middle-section with the polished finish of the bezel's graceful profile. 

DIAL

Expertly made in Germany, the  Redcliff 39.5 'Confetti' features a delicate ivory-coloured painted base dial which has then been embellished with an all-over confetti motif cast in multi-coloured printing - a totem of celebration for all of life's most important milestones.

The baton indexes are crafted from a block of brass before being diamond polished and then coated in black gold, giving them a warm, grey/black appearance. The 12 o'clock index also features a subtle reference to another great Bristolian historical reference (the shape and form of the towers that hoist the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge). 

Each indices has been hand-filled with X1-Grade Super-LumiNova in Switzerland before being carefully hand-applied to the dial. 

HANDS

The Redcliff 39.5 'Confetti' distinctive ‘Fears’-shaped hands are tri-bevelled and diamond polished before in this example being finished in a coating of black gold (thus matching the indices).

During the day the tri-bevelled edges will catch the light brilliantly, allowing the time to be read easily. Whilst in low-light conditions, the bright X1-Grade lume (a first for the core collection) glows with a strong blue colour colour and stays charged throughout the night - making for the perfect travelling companion.

Complimented by a subtle, yet impactful pastel blue painted seconds hand (which happens to be John Caplan's favourite colour).

MOVEMENT

The Redcliff 39.5 'Confetti' is powered by a customised Swiss-made, automatic La Joux-Perret G101 movement (that has had the date function removed). Winding itself when worn on the wrist this movement boasts a generous power reserve of 68 hours and a decorated winding rotor concealed by a closed case back. 

BRACELET & STRAP

The Redcliff 39.5 'Confetti' comes with both a bespoke 3-link stainless steel bracelet and a 3D-woven textile straps.

Bracelet

Featuring solid screw links, the bracelet combines brushed and polished elements and has a substantial feel while the silky-smooth movement of the links ensure a comfortable fit around the wrist. The bracelet can be adjusted for a perfect fit with both 6mm and 8mm screw links but also adjusted 'on the move' via a push button micro-adjustment featured located within the trigger-release fold-over clasp. This ensures a comfortable fit always.

Extra Strap

Included with each Redcliff 39.5 'Confetti' is a woven textile strap made from a tightly 3D woven nylon material with an Alcantara lining, quick-release spring bars and finished with Fears' new bespoke pin buckle (featuring the Fears Cypher). 

INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED

Each watch we make carries a unique serial number. Engraved between the 20mm lugs at 12 o’clock, this number helps us identify your watch and its history.

AMOS BOX

All Fears watches are presented in a slim, rectangular, wooden box made of solid ash and stained in our bespoke shade of blue. This luxury box was inspired by traditional slim Fears watch boxes used in the past, in which the watch lies flat. Recognising the company's heritage, we called this box the Amos, after the names of both the 2nd and 3rd Managing Directors.

The top of the box is discreetly engraved with the Fears logo and features a gentle bevel around its edges, whilst the interior is lined in genuine cream suede. The box is secured by a polished chrome push button, keeping your watch safe and secure.
